I guess the holes will be in the right place, I was more worried about the pins that you connect wires to for the power switch, light, reset switch, HDD light etc. These are pretty standard on mobos and cases that you buy, but I've definitely seen an HP that has a completely non standard single connector for all these things, meaning that the mobo is stuck with that case, and that case is also stuck with that mobo. You'll have to watch out for the power supply too, even if complies with standards, a few extra connectors have crept in over the last few years with extra connections for motherboard, CPU or graphics card. Depending on how powerful your PSU is you might have been looking at changing it anyway...

When it arrives I'll have a fiddle and see what's what. Worst comes to worst, I'll keep the case and PSU and update the mobo later on when I get some more money and port over my gpu and processor. I'm looking to upgrade my soundcard anyway at some point, and looking to crossfire my graphics and I don't have enough PCIs on my board to do both anyway, so it would have been inevitable.

My case arrived today....it's a glorious hunk of metal and joy.

My mobo connected fine except I dont have the pins to connect the reset button but I don't care about that. I can't use the two front usb3s either as the mobo doesn't support them but that's no great problem.... I can worry about those when I get a new board.

My GPU has gone from idling at 57degrees to about 45. When I run furmark it takes far longer to heat up, too, and the curve is much more gradual...and it cools down a lot quicker.

My processor meanwhile idles at about 35 vs 45. Again, it doesn't seem to heat up so much under stress either. All in all a win.

Oh, and best of all....it's so quiet! my god...doesn't sound like a labouring hoover.

    Great stuff.
