Hi Guys

we have a boiler (Vaillant Ecotec Plus 837 NG Condensing), the hot water works fine downstairs but no water comes out the tap if you turn the hot water on upstairs, cold works fine.

Was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what it could be? plumber is struggling to find a hot water pipe going upstairs at the moment!

Thanks

So was there hot water before, or have you just moved in?
if your plumber cannot find a hot feed to the upstairs, then that rather identifies the problem...
Sounds like an airlock to me otherwise.
If it's a boiler problem then you need a GSR RGI, not a plumber.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • We've always had hot water so there must be a hot feed somewhere, I'll check the boiler pressure just incase its that (its actually my parents place but trying to help them out), I'll suggest an airlock to the plumber too to see if that helps.

    Thanks for the reply :)
  • why is the name of your boiler in your first post a clicky & take you to a web site full of boiler offers ?? not trying to spam us are you !!
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
  • oh sorry I pasted it from my email, its from when I purchased the boiler, had no idea it was a link, i'll remove the link, been a member since 2005 do you really think I'm going to start spamming now.
  • it's ok we all do it sometimes, the boiler is a combi right ?

How many hot taps do you have upstairs - are they all affected?
  • yep all affected (sink and bath), plumber still cannot find the hot water pipes so he said for £140 he'll run new ones upstairs, might just have to go with that option

    No no no

You need a new plumber, not new pipes
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
