egg loan ppi

Hi,
I had an egg loan quite a few years ago, I don't know when and I don't have my account details, but I'm pretty sure I was misold PPI as I remember them telling me on the phone that I couldn't have the loan without taking out the ppi. I've tried phoning the number I've been given for egg which is now yorkshire building society (or something like that) who don't deal with the loans, they gave me britania morgate's phone number who only deal with loans after 2009. I don't know where to go next?
I even tried Premier claims Plus to see if they would be able to do the work for me, but they said I had to get my account number from egg first.
Can anyone help me? I'm happy to write a letter to egg, but don't know who to write it to and I don't have dates from when it was taken out. Do you think its worth phoning my bank to see if they can tell me when the direct debits were taken out?
Thanks

Hello there
Yes you can try contacting or calling into the branch where you paid for the monthly repayments of the loan, hopefully they will still hold the details.
If you have online banking and still with the same bank where you repaid the loan, you maybe able to check going so far back.
Details of the lender, account number and the repayment should be shown on the statements.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"
