Children's Bank Account Advice Please

Some of my relatives still like to send a cheque for my children's birthdays. I am looking for a bank account where my children can pay in their cheques and then withdraw money to spend.

Can anyone suggest a suitable bank account for them?

Check any offers from your local Building Society if you have one.

Don't forget to complete R85 if your children are non-taxpayers.

Remember that it makes life easier to keep money given by parents (outside tax privileged accounts) separate from that given by other people.

Both my kids have been set up with barclays accounts, at the moment i dont allow them to withdraw money but they have a nice little sum of money for when they do from birthdays and christmas. Go into a couple of banks on your highstreet!
