Not sure if this is the right place to post but...
I'm looking at trading in some console stuff including a PS3. Amazon trade in looks to be the best but reviews have made it sound very unreliable. Does anyone know of a good reliable service for trade in?
Thanks

Do you have a CEX near you? If so, take it there. You won't get as much as if you sold them, say, on ebay, but it's hassle free. Failing that, Gamestation, if you still have one near you, will also give you something for them. You can either have cash or, store credit. You'll be offered more if you go for the store credit option.0

Saw an ad on TV a couple of nights ago saying Music Magpie were now taking electronic items as well. No idea how good they are though.0

Have sold numerous books to Amazon.co.uk and found them to be excellent. The books are wrapped and sent and I've received my gift voucher almost within 24 hours.
Only downside is the gambling element. Some books vary in the price Amazon offer from 25p to several pounds in a couple of hours. I re-checked all of those I've sent and overall I'm made more than if I sent them today. Some though, like one I sent two weeks ago for £12.50 is now £16.50.
It's all money for 'nothing' though :-)0 -
CEX: Sold them some DVD's. Was fine if a bit tedious waiting at the counter so long. Went fro store credit but notice they did NOT pay me anything for a couple of discs YET failed to offer them back!
Magpie: Very long-winded process. Often takes about two months from completing trade to actually have a cheque in hand.
https://www.zapper.co.uk were on 'Dragon's Den' this week. Similar to Magpie and buy consoles it seems.0 -
PS3s will be in demand now with xmas looming - best return would be through freeads (local, friday ads, gumtree etc.) as you'll get 100% of money -just watch out for scammers. Collection in person for cash only!0

Never used CEX but the one and only time I've used amazon trade in was a nightmare - took ages for them to register they had the books, they were running a promotional voucher at the time which I had to chase them up about twice before they sent me the code, but the code didn't work so I had to contact them again and they finally added it to my account. Took about a month overall...£2012 in 2012 member #15: £651.55/£20120

Do NOT use these people. They pay 30p for a dvd, agree a price with you. then when the cheque comes it is for a lesser amount. They do not answer your emails. I have emailed them 4 times about my cheque. You get an automated reply saying you will be contacted within 48 hours, then nothing. I really think they are scamming people.0

I have sent numerous parcels to them and always got paid the full amount. They don't pay much for items, but the CD/DVDs I sent to them were all ones that had failed to sell on ebay etc so I was happy.
I have sent two items to Amazon Trade-In and both have got lost (my ebay parcels rarely get lost so I was a bit surprised).0
