Association on a Credit Report

I wasn't really sure where to post this and I am sorry for the long story but here goes...
Basically I was made redundant 4 years ago and got into lots of debt which I am still trying to pay off. This was around the same time as I met my now husband and I was in denial for a while and did not tell him about it until recently.
Myself and my husband have never had any joint accounts or credit of any kind for this reason - the debt was before me met and he did not want this to affect him.
We have recently viewed a Shared Ownership property which my husband was going to get a mortgage on his own. As it was shared ownership, on the application you had to complete required names of all people that were going to be living there.
In error, our mortgage adviser has done a mortgage quotation in joint names. We explained to him that it would never pass in joint names and we did infact want it in just my Husband's name.
He said this is fine as my Husband's income was sufficient for the shared ownership but when my Husband checked his credit report last night it is showing me as an Associate because of the mortgage quotation.
I have emailed all the credit companies this morning but wondered whether they would disassociate your husband from you? And if they do, how long will it take?
My husband has a prefect credit rating and has never made a late payment in his life and now I am so worried I have ruined it for the both of us and now he won't get accepted. How likely is it now that my adverse credit will make his mortgage declined.
I just feel like crying. :'( Thank you for reading even if you have no advice.

I would have thought that as you are married the association would stand.
Do you have joint bills?0 -
We have joint bills but this does not come up on the credit report. We have no loans, accounts, credit cards or any forms of joint credit. We have never shown up as associates until the mortgage quotation was done last night.0

I don't know that much about the process to advise unfortunately but I do think it's worth posting on the loans board as lots of people there deal with credit reports and how lenders assess criteria x0

What do you mean by mortgage quotation, an in principle or a full application? I don't think you can dissociate from your husband/ wife when you still live together. You are linked, any benefits are assessed on joint incomes for example.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

You can disassociate from spouses. You need to apply to the credit reference agency to be disassociated. As long as you don't share any financial products, like a joint account, a loan, etc, you can do that. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0
