It is hardly a secret site - ive known about it for ages as it comes up in a google search of argos clearance - a search Im sure many people will put in to look for things in the sale at argos. I have also seen it discussed on other forums.0 -
Thanks for the good advice, I agree pallets are a bad idea.
I am looking for more than £20 a week obviously I just meant that being £20 a week down has spurred me on a bit.
Getting an extra job isnt an option for me as then i wont be entitles to my maternity pay from my current employer, and i have a 3 month old baby so dont really want to be working in a bar at night. Also not a fan of the avon/ann summers/betterware etc route.
I have found another site that deals in 1 item bundles that are not seconds/damaged and the margin is lower but the net profit would probably be better.
This is all still a brainstorm anyway im not going to jump into anything without researching all options.
Ill let you know how it goes anyway, unless I win the lotto tonight of course!0 -

the idea is that someone who discusses their sources openly in a forum like this may not get far in a business that's very competitive.0 -
not worth it. Many items are overpriced too start with. Smaller the load=smaller profit margin
Even if you purchase a container the margin is garbage. Every tom !!!!!! and harry knows were the tesco and argos stuff comes from.
Some of the other guys selling pallets, they are 3rd hand and cherry picked before you get them.
good luck you will need it......
BTW money is buying power, the more you have to spend the more doors will open for you.0 -

Have you checked whether they will allow you to set up a business then? It seems odd that you would not be allowed to work PAYE but could work as self employed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes , i have http://www.dwp.gov.uk/publications/specialist-guides/technical-guidance/ni17a-a-guide-to-maternity/statutory-maternity-pay-smp/working-in-your-maternity-pay/
It is odd I agree, but that seems to be the case with a lot of governement rules doesnt it0 -
with the restrictions you have, new baby, not allowed to get an extra job etc,
Intially to make up the shortfall in your income, sell your unwanted personal items on ebay.
gather up a bit more knowledge on these pallets of returned toys etc, by searching on the internet, and reading posts on other forums.and then you can decide if it is for you in the future.
Going back 15 plus years ago, i bought catalogue returned clothing, and started selling them via party plan ( didnt do ebay then) If the clothes are anything to go by.. you get a hand full of really good stuff which would sell, and then you would get the wired stuff that they bought too much off , and average cheap tat.
So from that experience I would say def not worth it, you might as well go to car boots every week, and slowly buy good branded toys, and store them, until september/october and list them on ebay, but keep a book, and write down exactly how much you bought them for etc... for you tax etc..Work to live= not live to work0
