*Probable stupid question alert*

I'm thinking of getting a new laptop, (Samsung RF711), which comes with a Blu Ray ODD. My question is...will I be able to write to and play CD's and DVD's with this? I know little about Blu Ray and the spec does not offer much help. Really sorry if this is a stupid question...I have tried to find the answer....honest!

Also, any views on this particular laptop/model would be great.... I'm looking for something to replace a desktop so need biggish screen, fast and with a large HD.

Thanks :)

    Answer = Yes.

    If it is any help, I have a Samsung R710 with a blu-ray drive and I am very pleased with it.
