Do I apply for better card after 1 year with capital one?

I had bad credit about ten years ago but I cleard off all the debt about 8 years ago. I could not get any of the top credit cards because i have gad nothing on credit the last 8 years. I took out a capital one card 1 year ago now. I have spent money on it every month and paid it off in full at the end of the month. I have a contract phone now, a house phone, I am on the electoral role and pay my car insurance monthly buy direct debit. I think I jave done everything.mentioned on this site to improve my credit. Now the year is up with capital one do i apply for a really good card or a slightly better one or just carry on with capital one? any advice would be great.

Thanks
Scott

    Well done!!

I would recommend you try the pre-application check for the Barclaycard Initial, which you can do here: https://letmechoose.barclaycard.co.uk/

To apply for the card, click below:

  • Thanks MrSilk, I just did this and it says i'm 70%-80% likley to be accepted for their best cards!

Has anyone been rejected with these sorts of odds?

Yes, for a Barclaycard Intial, I had 8/10 and got rejected.

Try the Nationwide soft search..... a quote with a better apr of 19.9% usually means they will accept you. Read the full thread on this board for more details. Good luck

Use the Fluid card website to perform a soft check on your file and see if it thinks you have a good chance of getting the card. If it doesn't, it will list other products for you that, based on your circumstances, you are more likely to get.
