  • I have an old white tv unit from ikea, I think it must be mdf or similar. If I chop it up do you think it would be ok to burn it on my fire? Thanks

No. MDF is full of pretty nasty chemicals (and it takes a lot to make me say that!). It's one of the substances that doesn't belong on a domestic fire.

Thank you for all of the replies. I found a supplier today that delivers in my area every Thursday so have ordered 3 bags of premium Columbian at £7.38 for 25kg inc del. he advised that was the best one as it burns hotter, longer and cleaner, he also co firmed that I am not in a smoke free zone so I'll give it a go and hopefully save some money.

Cor, had to do a double take and re-read that one carefully :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  • Thanks, I shall break up the tv unit and take it to the tip
