EDF waiting times

Have any EDF customers found it takes an age to get through to a person at EDF when you ring them? Took me 40mins the other afternoon!! When I mentioned it they said that the reason was too many people coming off tariifs and swapping to other tariffs EDF were introducing so the best time to call was between 8am- 9:30am!!

you did well at 40 mins.
I used to spend up to 2 hours on hold!

EDF are by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with and I left them as soon as I could.
Failed meter change appointments, never answer the phone, don't bill when they should then bill all in one lump!
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

If you have the sheer audacity to complain to EDF, they take the easy route.. they just ignore you!

First a general response to that. Being ignored is a great response because at 10 working days you can challenge them on process failure and again if you remain dissatisfied after 8 weeks you can ask the Energy Ombudsman to consider the issue. That is cost free to the complainer but the suppliers risks a circa £350 case fee.

Specifically, it is not my experience that Edf continues to ignore a complaint when faced with a "10 day" challenge. Yes a different point may be answered, but then most organisations try that on. The trick is to make your complaint unambiguous.
