Fitting a Fireplace

Hi Experts.
Help or advise needed.
I am in the process of recycling my parents old fire surround and hearth to use in my own house. All I need to buy is an electric fire.
Planning on putting against a flat plasterboard wall. Problem is it seems that the electric fire itself sinks into the back of the wall by about 4cm which would normally be the fire breast, but I dont have a fire breast.
What is the solution - surely not to have to cut a hole in the platerboard??

Thanks

There is a metal frame (packer) that can be purchased for some types of fires, they cost around £25.
Or, If your a bit handy =
Purchase some white pine timber, around 40mm x40mm ( dressed ) make up a simple frame,( only 3 bits ) spray or paint those with matt black paint ,
fix the frame to the wall or to the back of the back panel, pop your fire in !
If the back panel is marble fix with no nails adhesive.0 -
Thank you professional landlord!
Just finished doing my bathroom all on my lonesome (I am including my Dad in that) so a frame should be straight-forward now... surely!?!
