Barclay Card Delined in shops and online but works cash machine??

Hello,
Last night i tried ordering something online, but kept having a error message so ended up giving up thought id try again tomorrow sometime.
Today then i went into town, went to use my card for some Christmas presents in store and my card got declined... i tried again, declined again, luckily i had the cash on me to save anymore embarrassment , i then went into my local barclays branch checked my balance on machine, all normal, went to speak to a member of staff who swiped my card, looked into my account but couldn't see no problem ... They asked me to use there phone in branch and speak to someone on the phones to look into my account more, i done so, spoke to a man on the phones who again couldn't see no problem with my account and just said it could just be a problem with my card itself and would send me out a new card in the next few days... ,
I then went to there cash machines in branch just to double check again my account balance and see if it would draw money out, my balance was fine all normal yet my card then allowed me to draw money out with no problem... which i found strange as online and in shops my card isnt working and surely if there was a issue with the card itself it shouldn't work in the machine either? But like i mentioned i drew out money no problem.
I then went home and tried paying a bill online thinking if its my card thats just the problem like barclays believes or something, surely me ordering something online should work ,but no again error messages declining me ordering online, i tried a couple of other sites online to pay for things but nope nothing is working still so i cant pay or buy nothing online.
I don't understand this as ok if there is a problem with my card itself, like barclays think, surley i should still be able to use my account online to pay for things?
Like i mentioned i used a cash machine using my card and it worked fine, its just in shops and online, is this normal for my card to be doing this as surley i should still be able to use online? I thought mabey a block might of been put on my account, this has happened before a few months back due to fraud suspect which turned out to be nothing, but like i mentioned ive been in branch, also phoned and know1 can see a problem, they are sending me out a new card but im confused as if my card is the problem why is it working in a cash machine, and why isnt my account able to buy stuff online, as of course im not using my chip n pin etc online to buy for things ,so im confused, can anyone suggest what might be the problem? anyone had similar issues?

    I had a slight problem yesterday, couldnt use my barclays debit card in one shop, fortunately I had cash on me, the rest of the queue had to pay with cash, but I think it was only on one machine at the till - mind you I didnt go back to check. Later on could use it in a small shop and online. Its probably just one of those things.:A

    Might be worth making sure you have the cash on hand though - I do

    Sounds like you have hit a security check.

    Often these will allow ATM, but decline POS and online. That will depend on the type of fraud.

    Have you been entering the wrong pin in the shops and locked the pin? ( it does allow you to use atm)
    Try going back to a atm and use pin services and unblock pin.
    But that does not explain online issues.

    Back on phone and get them to check no security alert. If front line say no. Push to be passed to security team and check all recent attempts. At least if all is OK, they will be able to put a anti refer on the card.
