Stupid husband ebay grumble

I am so cross at my OH

I have a lovely 100% feedback with 4.9% star rating :)

OH asks me to sell bike wheels for him takes the pics and gives me a description. I put them on they sell for £170 plus £10 p&p. very happy with that.

So they have sold today and I'm going to pack them up and send them first thing tomorrow. I ring and tell him he says 'before you send them I need to take the tyres off them" so I say 'you can't they were in the pic'

He claims he didn't get a chance to take them off before taking the pic and it didn't say tyres included then its ok.

I think it is complete false advertising. If I was buying I would expect everything pictured unless clearly stated tyres not included, which is wasn't.

I'm so cross he has 'forbidden' me to send them with the tyres. I am angry as they are a fair price even with tyres on.

Stupid stupid husband.

Rant over but it's made me sad :(

It is for this very reason that I set up another account for my OH to sell his own things.

I advise him all I can but he still wants to do things his own way sometimes but at least there is no comeback on my account.

Is he aware of the potential fallout, I would be furious if I was sent bike wheels without tyres and they were in the picture!!
  • I'd message the buyer and let them know the situation before you send them, better to refund now if they wish rather than deal with a return later.
You never know the buyer may still want them so best to be sure.

Yes, I would do the same.

Better to explain that the tyres were left on by mistake before they get them than have to sort it all out later.

    As said,email and explain
The buyer aybe happy with just the wheels if the price is good
They may not even be bothered about tyres.
I have a loft full of them :o

The thing is poppyoscar, if the husband and your accounts are registered at the same house. eBay can limit your account too for something he has done, if its something bad. Not only can they see you are at the same address but computer user accounts and cookies will also help link yous 2 together.

    So be careful

    Thanks.

I do not think he would do any thing to warrant that but I am thinking more of keeping my 100% feedback record!

Would £170 be a good price for just the wheels, or is the price reflective of wheels PLUS tyres?

I'd email the buyer and say you've just realised that the auction was misleading given the description is for the wheels only, yet the photo shows the wheels with tyres on, and did they realise that it was for the wheels ONLY and not the tyres? Say you'll understand if they didn't realise this, and will cancel, as it was entirely your fault for not making it clear.

    Hopefully they'll understand.

In the mean time, stop speaking to your husband, give him the cold shoulder, stop doing his washing, cooking etc... until he has grovelled LOTS!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

eBay do not need an excuse to ban you. My brother owns a furniture business, selling used items. Just the usual house hold stuff really... and nic nacs.

He made the accounts for eBay and PP. Listed some items and banned all within the same day. He called them up and said !!!!!! is going on here.... they said due to account activity.... he said what activity, I only made the account.... no answer from them. They are a law within themselves.... And this was only last week.

    Just be careful ;)
  • How much would a couple of new tyres cost?

If it's not too much, why not see if the buyer would accept a partial refund?
This might be enough to keep them happy and your hubby would still get a fair proportion of the money that was bid.
