Somewhat confused!!

I recently wrote to the Nat West, on behalf of my partner regarding 4 PPI's that he has connected to his mortgage. I downloaded the PPI Consumer Questionnaire, filled it out - 4 copies, included copies of the first 2 pages of each policy, which include the Policy number, commencement date, etc. and sent a covering letter.
He has today received a letter from them saying:- "You have not provided us with a number that refers to a loan account/full credit card number/mortgage. Please provide us with more information with which to locate the relevant policy. Appropriate information can include policy numbers, amount borrowed, start dates, end dates, copies of credit agreements, copies of statements, any other supporting paperwork or loan account numbers"
I do not understand! Why are they asking for something that I have already sent or have I misunderstood something?
Please can someone help? Thank you.

Could be the staff member didnt spot it or you didnt give them details that have enabled them to find it. The fact you say he has 4 PPIs with his mortgage doesnt sound right at all. Typically you would only expect one PPI and then a life assurance, critical illness cover and/or income protection. So, are you mixing up other insurance types with PPI?
Did natwest actually sell these or was it a mortgage adviser or broker?
One of the reasons fewer mortgage PPI complaints succeed is that are usually standalone policies and not factored into the mortgage. That makes them set up correctly. However, it also means they have their own policy documents and the mortgage account number usually is of no use.
So, it could easily be an error on their part or you are complaining about PPI on policies that are not PPI.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Ah, could be that I am misunderstanding the whole thing then! He has the following:- NatWest Mortgage Repayments Protector, 2 x Decreasing Term Assurance and a Level Term Assurance.0

Yes. I think this is the problem. The 2x DTA and LTA are not PPI. Life assurance is long term insurance issued by life assurance companies which is underwritten at point of sale. PPI is short term insurance issued by general insurance companies which is underwritten at point of claim.
By supplying life assurance policy details on a PPI complaint, it would cause confusion.
Unless you are immortal, it is difficult to complain about life assurance when you are married. You would also be going against the norm. Most people take out life assurance on their mortgage as well as more for family/spouse protection.
The NatWest Mortgage Repayments Protector is a form of PPI but I believe it was AS only and not ASU. (Accident, Sickness and unemployment being the initials). Plus, again from memory, the criteria was quite good as you only needed to be off work for 2 weeks before you could claim. Most are 30-90 days. It was also only available as monthly premium. So, couldn't be set up incorrectly.
What actually are your reasons for complaint on these?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. When he took out his mortgage, he felt forced into having all these and didn't feel he was advised very well.
I see now that nothing can be done about the DTA & LTA, but maybe the Mortgage Repayment Protector? It is an ASU which he doesn't actually need because he is covered for all this with the company that he works for.
Thanks for helping me :-)0
