Favourites,edit tools missing

Help i am a complete novice,i have a Samsung Laptop and at the top of the screen on the left hand side there as always been File,Edit,Favourites,Tools help but last night it vanished.
Please can anyone in lay mans terms tell me what i have done and how do i get it back

F11 does not work ,ALT does but when i hit any key i lose it again

If you are talking about Internet Explorer and want to see them all the time , right-click at the top of the window above the address and check 'Menu' (see 1st image below).

If you are talking about the Explorer file manager window, select Organize then Layout (see 2nd image):
