Morrisons Diesel, Aberdeen

Options
Hi,

Filled up with diesel from Morrisons in Aberdeen on 19th October and engine would not start following morning (it started for a couple of seconds then died). Has anyone else had a similar issue (I have seen similar problems previously)?
(Garage checked battery was ok and fuel filter was just replaced last week and receipt does say diesel!)

TIA.

Had a morrisons open up near me and read a few stories about the fuel. Don't know if its interweb BS or not but rather pay roughly the same price else where. Is your car working now?

Found this cure, may be of help:

  • There's a Morrison petrol station near my of place work . I never personally used them or any other supermarket fuel , personal preference . I was told by my work colleagues , who do use it . Morrisons have recently stated on their pumps , saying fuel contains bio fuel ? Is it nationwide ,I don't know. Makes u wonder why they've done it ? Have they had drivers complaining . Its their know , meaning drivers u have been informed now, up to u .

Have you checked the fuel in the tank?

I Didnt think DB9's armed with missiles ran on diesel, So maybe thats the problem?

    Warning lights?

If it turns over and attempts to start then the battery is OK. Is that all they tested?

The availability of 5% biodiesel is becoming common now as the government's Road Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) requires that the UK has 5% of biofuels across the nation

What if the fault is a fuel pump, immobiliser, injector or other issue?

Just because you just filled up doesnt mean it's the fuel, faults happen at any time.
  • We need more info please.

Make / model of the car , engine size , car reg , and more importantly history of the car.
Prior , to u filling at Morrisons . Was the car running okay ?
Try this quick fix , pour redex in your fuel tank see if that helps . Or u can buy more better diesel (if your tank is not full already ) try bp or texaco fuel , mix it together see if that helps .

    Interesting.

I was talking to MIL (who was talking to a friend of hers) recently who a year or so back said his Kia Sorento would see him out and he now has a brand spanking new one. When challenged he muttered on about Morrisons diesel.

If you want me to find out anymore just let me know.

By the way this is the Johnstone Morrisons so probably same source as the Aberdeen fuel.
