Chimney damp problem

Hi,
I have a damp patch on the ceiling of our bedroom which starts from the corner of a chimney breast. It runs about a foot down the wall and chimney breast from the corner of the ceiling.
I have had the chimney lead flashing replaced and then the whole chimney taken down and lead tray replaced on advice from a roofer. Whilst it does appear to be a lot better the damp patch has still not cleared up.
The chimney is internal through the middle of our house and has a log burner with flu liner installed which we use in the winter.
I am beginning to wonder if it is now a condensation problem as the wall is wet and slimy to the touch in the mornings, but appears to dry out a bit by the evenings.
Having already spent a significant amount of money on the above, I really want to make sure whatever I do next sorts out the problem once and for all. Any ideas?
Thanks

Do you know if the liner was installed the right way up ? there is a right way and a wrong way to install liners, installed the wrong way and moisture will track back down the liner.
It could also be damp through lack of use, poorly fitting liner cowl, bad moarter joints in the chimney etc
It could also be down to condensation, leave a window open slightly in the bedroom see if that helps. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
