I don't use ebay that much and when i have things have gone smoothly.
I ordered a product last monday for just under £200 inc P&P by By it now function and paied via paypal. Got message to say order despatched by seller with 100% record, by Parcelforce. As of today nothing received. Logged on today to contact seller and found one message from him and one directly from ebay. The upshot of it is the seller claims that the product firstly was damaged in transit and then lost! Ebay sent a message asking me to cancel or raise a dispute. As the seller says no more in stock it seemed easier to agree to cancel and i have had a message saying the money has been refunded back to pay pal.
2 things: Now i have agreed to cancel it seems i can't leave any feedback. I wouldn't really want to leave bad feedback per se anyway but it seems wrong not to be able to say something.
Secondly it does seem strange that the seller should be informed about the damage and then find out about its loss in transit before me! Or am i reading too much into it ?
Experienced ebayers please reply

They should have given you tracking , surely? That would show there was a problem with the parcel on the tracking.
If not - sellers just had a better offer.
Also, just check your paypal account to make sure its there (or back on your card).0 -
it was "Buy it now " function so surely there is no possiiblity of a better offfer?
The refund has definitely been processed.
i just got an email on the 17th to say the item had been despatched.-no tracking number. Although interestingly the expected delivery date was 17/18th Oktober. Perhaps i am just suffering paranoia and as i said once the case is closed there doesn't seem to be anywhere to leave feeedback?"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170
