Caveat Emptor

I see that MSE is still mentioning StaySure for Travel Insurance. Well be careful what you bargain for. I took out StaySure's Global Travel Insurance for people with pre-existing medical conditions (HBP in my case).
But when I broke my leg in Kosovo, it turned out to be not such a bargain! In fact, NBG. All they did was send me multiple forms to provide details of the doctor/hospital that had x-rayed my leg and their medical notes, permission to contact my UK GP (?!), and "was a 3rd party involved". In fact anything but tell me how (or if) they planned to get me home.
In the end, I had to book flights home on my mate's c/card. And since then not a word from StaySure: for all they know I could still be lying in my hotel room, broken leg untreated.
You might say they're no worse than any other cheapo Travel Insurer. I say, be careful you don't save a bit too much on your premium.

Contact your UK doctor so they can see if you already had a broken leg or other health issues you have not declared to avoid paying out.

One of the benefits of a decent Travel Insurance Policy is the access to their medical helpline. This is staffed by bi lingual staff who are experienced in dealing with medical situations, they also often have trained medical staff in their call centre and can arrange air amubulances if needed.
