  • I know that you said you cancelled/stopped the endowment early - but it might be worth checking out if your ex's employer had any death in service insurance/arrangements. In addition if he had any private pension provision, there may be some amounts available for his beneficiaries (your children).

    This is not really my area, but you really need to do some reading/take proper advice about 'dying intestate' - not necessarily for your sake - but for the benefit of your children.
