Hi,
I need a new printer as I am going to be printing around 200 pages of information from PDFs daily.
I want one that's cheap to run, fairly quick and of a reasonable quality.
I've got an Epson SX438W at the moment that is good enough from a cost and quality point of view but it's taking about 3 hours to do the printing.
Any tips?
Budget is up to around the £200 mark but cheaper would be good, I can stretch a bit if it's worthwhile.
Thanks.

You don't give the one crucial piece of information-do you need to print in 4 colour or mono?
If mono only, then a basic b/w laser printer (Samsung do some excellent ones) is the obvious choice for 200pp daily. Inkjets will cost a fortune otherwise, and be far slower.
£70 will get you one of these. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Apologies, I do need colour printing, mainly text.Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080

At 6,000pp pm I would be looking to spend a little more and get a 4 col laser then.
A consumer grade inkjet is not designed for that kind of output and will not last very long, on top of the high ink costs.
If you are mainly printing 4 col text (not photos) then the laser quality will be perfectly adequate. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
What about this one:

So you need colour printing, but mainly do text. Do you need both on same document? If not, pick a cheap second hand workhorse laser for text and keep your inkjet for the odd colour print.
We've been using an old Brother laser for last 6-7 years. Wife is studying law, prints gazillions of articles, statutes, cases etc. The laser has been invaluable. Just check on cost of toner/drums0 -
Yes, I do need colour and there will be some images on the same page as the text. Anyone got any recommendations or do I just nip down to PC World and get them to flog me the one with most commission on it?Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080
