Fan not working in cooker.

We have an electric cooker that I guess is approx. 10 Years old , as it was in the house when we bought it.Over the last 2 days I have noticed that the sockets downstairs have been fusing ( although its just the RCD that has been tripped) and noticed that each time it was when we were using the cooker/oven.Yesterday I put the tea in the oven and found that the main oven wasnt very hot , just blowing warm air. There is also a smaller oven/grill above the main oven that seems to be a bit warmer but not as hot as it should be.
Does anybody have any ideas if it sounds repairable ie. wiring or a new fan ?
Thanks for any replies :money:

Make and model would help? If the fan is running then that clearly isn't the fault. More likely an element or thermostat problem. Get a white goods engineer to have a look.
Whatever it is appears to be causing your RCD to trip, (earth fault, short?) so it needs seeing to quickly.
Everything is repairable; whether it's economical to do so depends on the cost of repair. But with cookers, usually yes.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Have fitted a new element on the cooker ( Hotpoint EW91) but within a minute or so of trying the oven it started smoking and could smell burning.Fitted the element exactly as the other was fitted , with only 2 wires to connect , so not sure why it was burning. It was the same wattage , 2500 , as the other element.
Have decided that we will need a new cooker as my wife isnt keen on spending money on repairing the cooker.
Thanks for the help. :money:The truth shall set you free.....................0 -
New elements often produce a little smoke at first start up. I think there is a protective costing which burns away, hence the smoke. No free lunch, and no free laptop
