Techie help, re phones/tablets etc

Hi
At the mo I have a basic phone with limited internet access and email retriving capabilites. Its a lg pop.
Plus a dell laptop.

What I am after is something capable of using a kindle amazon app to read on, without the weight of the laptop. I would also like it to be able to browse, especially facebook and to be able to chat instantly.

Picking up emails would be a bonus as well.


I really have no idea what products would do all this, do tablets? even phones nowadays?

Yeah, that's all standard on most mobiles these days.

Personally, I've a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - a phone big enough to sensible browse / read on, but just about small enough to fit in my pocket wherever I go.
