Hi,
I want to open a savings account on Staerday, does any one know which banks are open then in London? I,ve only been able to see online that some branches of some banks are open on Saterdays but not which, where or when?

Halifax is open on Saturdays, although branch opening hours do differ. Most of them close at 12noon, but there are others that stay open until 2pm or later.
Most Barclays branches are open on Saturdays until 3pm. Abbey is open on Saturdays, again opening hours do differ.
What I would add though is, just because a branch is 'open' doesn't necessarily mean they'll have personal bankers available to open new accounts. Some banks (and in some cases branches) do not open bank accounts on Saturdays, some only open to accept deposits & withdrawals etc. Also, some banks will only open new accounts for those who have made appointments.
Therefore, I would recommend checking with the banks in your local area before Saturday, so as to avoid problems and frustration. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
You will need to make an appointment to open an account on a Saturday at Halifax - my local branch has a three-week waiting list for a Saturday booking! If your branch is the same, they might try and book it at a different branch in the area. I can only suggest this is because they are obsessed with their "saving and investing reviews", which requires a 30 minute slot.
Nationwide branches are usually good for Saturday opening, and if they aren't really busy you should be able to go in and open an account there and then.
An alternative of course is to open your savings account online! Plenty of good accounts and rates out there!0
