ooo-k....Gp rec... I cannot for love nor money get this medicine down Squeak.. whatever you mix it with tastes as bitter and disgusting and leaves a nasty aftertaste, I am unable to hole her down, and she can make herself sick on demand.. I refuse to clean up sick.. so I rang and asked for something that tastes nicer .. apparently different colour medicine indicates their strength.. erm.. no, I don't think so! .. so of course I informed her about the difference between gram positive and gram negative bacteria and how the different types of antibiotic work on different bacteria and broad-spectrum antibiotics which are generally weaker but work on more types of bacteria... and the colour is purely colourings so it is easier to differentiate between bottles. Strength is based on amount of active ingredient, the colour has no bearing on anything other than allergies.I'm getting a new prescription after 5pm.. ;) I think she tried it on with the wrong person today!

  • I am with you Optimistic Mummy, started flying at 7....but feeling progressively unwell......DD3 made a surprise apology dinner yesterday ( for recent misdemeanours) which I started to eat, but I had to throw away because it was not cooked properly and was unsalvageable ......bit miffed as she took a small gammon joint straight from the freezer and microwaved it in 3/4 a bottle of cherry wine, then put in the oven to cook......it was so hard and burned on the outside she couldn't carve it, so burned or not I appreciated her effort and tried some. After nearly breaking my teeth on the burnt gammon, the next piece that I could cut off as soon as I put it in my mouth the texture told me it hadn't been cooked enough, so that was the end of my dinner and I fear it is an expensive bout of food poisoning is about to ensue, not good when there is a fly-baby brewing in my tum.:(

So I am having a gentle fly today....DS is in a boisterous mood, so I am going to risk leaving the safety of the house for a little while, to wear him out a bit to save him messing up the house....Going to take him to the beach to blow off some steam, so no point hoovering downstairs til we get back as sand always get in socks and trouser turn ups and shaken out before I can whip his clothes off quickly!:o

Will be back on later to join for an HHC session!
The cold never bothered me anyway

So far I've completed 2 x HHI today. Still loads to do. I've run out of washing gloop and can't do a tesco shop until payday tomorrow.

I had a nice day yesterday. DH took the 3 eldest to Alt0n T0wers (free tickets from bank). I took the opportunity to go and see my Mum with the 2 youngest. She cooked us dinner and I took their pyjamas so that I could leave late. They both fell asleep in the car so I carried them up to bed.

DS1 didn't go to college today. He's slipping back. I really thought he had turned a corner. DD1 had a chat with him this morning and he's told her he's not done an assignment. I'm really concerned now, if I have another year like last one I will end up in the funny farm.

He's just come and told me what DD got out of him. I've told him to get his act together,

I LOVE it when you get some 'know-it-all' who only knows 'something' but thinks they can spin a credible tale...

I got the council bloke when I discussed the difference in the aggregates in the tarmac over the road and hence why water comes up through the pavement, due to the water table and the clay layer...

woke up with a thumping head but DS sourced painkillers and coffee for me. Could it have been anything to do with the fact he wanted to drive there?

Anyway school visit (target setting) with DS done; he is working harder; making good progress and exceeding his targets. I'm so pleased; him failing first year of a levels was so hard. Back there again shortly with DD.
We were going to have gone to M/hell afterwards but I'm not really fit enough - certainly don't need the stress.

have booked DS's driving test  I'm going to ask his dad if he can give me somethign towards it.
