But presumably there is at least one other person or organisation you which you are interested in what they have to say... right ?
Its just another way to communicate with people; like email, facebook, blogs, sms, letters, IM, forums, books, flyers, posters, advertising etc.
Each has certain restrictions and limitations which lends each medium to a certain kind of expression.
If its not for you its not for you and that's ok, eg I don't do round-robin letters but others still like them.0 -
I think twitters the next biggest thing if not already. Facebook will die down pretty much soon in my eyes.
Twitter can be exciting when you give it the opportunity and time, i use it to blog my random thoughts and mood, i also use it to follow other big time real celebs or even stars to see what they're up-to / current moods / whats going on in their lives.
I was once an anti twitter person but if you gave fit time and explored and a chance, you would totally take back every bad word said about it, i can bet.Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0 -
I used to wonder what the point was and I still do for most of it. Finding out what some celeb, or even any other person thinks on a daily basis, is beyond my reasoning.
But our local school started using it and it's brilliant. We can find out what's going on on almost real time. If the bus bringing them home from a trip is late, the head will tweet and we all know. If something has changed it's passed to us straight away.
For others like the police it's also great, when the rioting occurred they got info out straight away.
For celebs and the like I can leave it, but others seem to like itFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
I get it, I think it's a good idea - do I use it? No.
There's too many things to do during the working day anyway so can't be bothered with it. I do occasionally use Facebook but only to be nosey to see what everyone else seems to be doing with their seemingly endless amounts of free time.0 -
I have no use or interest for twitter, facebook or any other social media site so I just ignore it,that suits me,others can do as they please0

I look upon it as "texts for an audience" - the messages are usually meaningless without context. There are some that have the skill to turn it into entertainment - if you like a good one-liner. I don't use it myself but then it took me a while to see the usefulness of blogs so I'm not going to casually dismiss it.0

Most celebs are anyway these days merely products of the PR team that effectively run them, they are no longer individuals as 'persons'. So they will say whatever their team tells them to say that will increase their public image. When they are in the UK they will say lots about how they like some aspects of the UK - which has been carefully calibrated to appeal to most of the citizens of the UK and offend the least.
Indeed many quotes from them are actually invented by the PR team and put out by the PR team. The celeb themselves are no longer in control are are merely mouthpieces for the (very) profitably run business that is 'team celeb'.0
