Don't think there is anything I can do about this so just came for a moan! Buyer buys item off me. Doesn't Pay. I open claim. They finally pay a week after they clicked BIN. I get message the other day saying INR. Arrrrrrrgh, they don't want a replacement because 'they've found an alternative replacement elsewhere. They could be totally genuine but this is happening far too often, always seems to increase around Christmas too! Thats two this week now. Think Im going to send certain items recorded now!

Recorded won't help you if it genuinely goes missing - all it will do is increase your prices. It doesn't insure, it doesn't expedite, and it costs you and your buyers 95p worth of decreased margins every time - for the sake of two recent losses I doubt it is economical.
Self-insure - a couple of pence on the item price and if you sell in any volume at all you will more than cover the price of the missing items.
If an item is INR I wait a reasonable time but if it is an item I need to get reasonably quickly I would replace and ask for a refund - I would be entitled to such under SOGA. I'm buying stuff for Christmas now so I can practicably buy online but say if something took two or three weeks to arrive I would be more interested in the money to go and buy it offline than a replacement which might or might not get here in time, recorded or not."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4
