Hi wonder if anyone could help me?
Back in January i bought my brother a laptop from Curry's. The make was a Lenovo G575 and both screws have fell out of the back of laptop in which now the screen is loose and unstable and some of the plastic has split due to this. Reading up on google this is a common fault for these laptops with the screws going missing and it's cheaply made.
I am normally good at keeping receipts and i have every other receipt for everything else apart from this for the Laptop I do however have a bank statement which shows I purchased it from curry's on the 11th January 2012 which would mean it is within the years warranty.
Can this be used as proof of purchase?
Thanks for anyones help!

yes that can be used as proof but I'm pretty sure as long as they took your address when you bought it they can look it up from that if you call them.
When my TV had a fault they just asked for my surname and postcode and arranged a repair with no hassle.0 -
As above, you don't need a receipt, just proof of purchase and a bank statement giving the required detail will be sufficient.0

Curry's will tell you to contact the manufacturer.I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0

They should have no problems finding your receipt with some other proof of purchase (like a bank statement)Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0

Yes, Guardsman, that is one option.
If you take the laptop into a PcWorld or Currys store they'll either say leave it here and we will do the repair or they'll say that and also say you can also contact Lenovo themselves and arrange the repair yourselves.
Lenovo, Sony are practically the only brands (and Samsung and Dells) where under the first year they don't go to Newark (KnowHow Repair centre), so you get a choice to either contact them yourselves or take it (or phone up) who will do exactly the same as you contacting them.
Asus also have their own repair route, but its a online form.
But as far as details go, you can go into any store and pull up a duplicate receipt by answering security questions.0 -
Thanks for your help
I'll probably go next week then with this statement and hopefully they can help me out or as you've said tell me to contact the manufacturer.
Seems a big hassle to go through the main people but if it's gotta be done then it will have to be! Can't have a loose screen any longer!
