Reapplying for an Amazon Mastercard

Hi,
Don't know if this is on here already, but thought I'd let everyone know anyway.
Had an Amazon Mastercard for quite a while now. Noticed recently that their cashback had gone from 1% on Amazon purchases and 0.5% on everything else to 2% on Amazon and 1% on everything else, but this was only for new customers.
I phoned up to ask if I could be switched to the new offer but was told no, I'd have to cancel and re-apply in 6 months. So I closed the account.
Last night I notice Amazon have yet another offer for new customers - now 3% on all spend in the first 90 days then reverting to 2% on Amazon spends and 1% everywhere else. Now I only closed my old account two weeks ago but thought what the hell, what's the worst that can happen.
So, I applied online, was instantly approved with a credit limit almost double the old limit, card was automatically added to my Amazon account as default payment method (so could be used straight away) and they added a £5 gift voucher to my account as well.
That's the Christmas spending sorted - for an Amex and Santander phobe at least

Hi,
Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I'm possibly about to hijack this thread but it seemed too relevant to my question (which concerns reapplying for an Amazon card) for me to create a new post.
I applied four months ago for an Amazon card but was declined. At the time I was a postgraduate student (i.e., no salary, only a bursary) and my credit report was largely blank due me not having a credit history and it lacking my parent's address (where all of my current accounts were registered). Since then my credit report has been updated and my Experian score has increased to Excellent. I'm employed, on the electoral register, have a history of settled direct debits and have recently been approved for financing on a car, but I'm afraid of reapplying.
Do you think my chances are good or does my lack of credit history/relatively recent failure significantly reduce the possibility of success?
Thanks in advance, and glad you got the new customer benefits without any hassle
