Guitar hero at Tesco

I was in Tesco HomePlus in Staines yesterday.
I was really pleased when handed a £6 off a £20+ spend and wanted to buy Guitar Hero 2 for my PS2.
The game was listed as £39.94 and on the front of the box it says that the guitar accessory is included.
When i asked a tesco sales assistant where i get the guitar from he told me that they were out of stock but that i could order one.
I went to the order desk and was told i couldn't order one and they didn't know when they would next get a delivery. I was then redirected to the customer service desk to get them to call me when they got a delivery.
They went to scan it and it wasn't on their files. They told me that they therefore couldn't sell it to me. The original sales assistant came over and told me that they in fact do have the guitars in stock!
only adding to my frustration that they had everything in stock but wouldn't actually sell it to me.
Are they allowed to do this?? Sorry for the long post - as you can see i really want that game!

well they're under no obligation to sell anything to you but it does seem a bit stupid that they are sitting there with stock and refusing to sell it, although if it wasn't on their database it's probably out of the hands of the staff that deal with customers. When i used to work in a supermarket the people in charge of the databases were in a small locked room at the back of the store and were only in for a few hours a day, now that they are aware of it they'll probably get it sorted in the next few days although it'll be up to you if you still want to give them your business.Bought, not Brought0

Hang on.
Surely if this is included with the game then it's not even going to have it's own stock code, since it would never be for sale anyway. It's part of the main product.
The comparison is to a supplement for a magazine that you have to ask for, that they keep behind the counter. It's part of the main product that does have a stock code.
I would say that they've sold you an incomplete product.0
