Are you young adults or old? Let us know what sort of things you like to do on holiday and times you're willing to drive, we'll be able to think of appropriate stuff to do.

I am 30 years old and hubby is 41 years old, I think that means we are young adults!! We like to see what there is around us. The sort of things we like to do is endless so I best put what we do not like to do, we do not like pubs and clubs.

Times hubby is willing to drive is all day, every day. He is a trucker and is used to driving at any time including during the night. He thinks nothing of driving 600 miles a day.

    HTH!

    Okay, assuming money no object
1 day at Warwick castle, evening at warwick races

1 day shopping/wandering Warwick and Leamington Spa (half day in each). Dinner in Ali Baba's at the bottom of Leam parade in "balti boulevard"-cheap and cheerful, buut v tasty, or "the Emperors" if you're a fan of chinese food, but quite pricy.

1 lazy day going to CadburyWorld (in Bourneville, Birmingham). Catch a show at NEC/NIA in evening

1 day in Stratford doing the shakespeare thing. Evening watching RSC in action at one of their 3 theatres in the town.

1 day in Birmingham city centre, go to Bull Ring, jewellery quarter, walking the canals. Evening eating in chinatown or a balti (whatever you didn't eat the other night!), then go to NIA/Symphony Hall for a show.

I'd also spend a day at Drayton manor going on all the rides...never too old for that!

Or if you're car fans, the Motor Heritage centre in gaydon is fun, as is the transport museum in Coventry City Centre.

Lots of canals around too, so maybe hire a boat for the day?

Quite a few walks around the area, though you'll probably be able to find out about those yourself as you'll know if you're hilly walkers or flat!

No doubt there'll also be things that catch your eye as you're up here.

Hope you have a great time.

THANKS for all those suggestions. We cannot wait to go. We are going to the Gaydon Mini Show on the Saturday and Sunday, that is our main reason for going over but we thought we might as well make it our holiday!

Sorry, I only noticed your post today. Are these places suitable for couples as we are 2 adults with no children?

    Very suitable.

If you go to Ryton pools, please keep an eye out for OH's wedding ring...he lost it there on a cold day 6 months after we got married.

What about being really cultured and take in a bit of Shakespeare at Stratford, either at the theatre or his birthplace.

(if you're not interested in either then Stratford is still nice to have a wander around, expensive shops though)

A run down to the Cotswoldes is one not to be missed. Moreton in the Marsh, Broadway, Stowe on the Wolde, the Slaughters, etc are all very pretty places.
