Only me again!
We've had some quotes through (all agreed that we need a new consumer unit, no others mentioned a rewire though) and just wanted to check that the following covers all paperwork we should receive/request:
An NICEIC electrical installation certificate is issued upon completion & Part P building control certificate
Thanks! You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0 -
We bought our house in April and knew it would need a full re-wire. I wish I'd had it done before we moved in as you cannot underestimate the dust and mess.
My best mate did all the work for me and he said it was some of the most dangerous wiring he'd ever seen.
60 year old cable where the insulation had crumbled off...underfloor heating which they'd made themselves, unearthed switches...all sorts! Plus there was only one plug socket per bedroom.
Other than the dust, a problem for us was the old lath and plaster walls...very difficult to repair the chases let along get a flat surface.
Not a job I ever want to do in any house I live in!!!0
