Ipod Touch software update problem

Hi All, having problems with my ipod touch, when I plugged it into my laptop today itunes asked if i wanted to update the software to the most recent. I clicked download and update. It got so far then froze. Absolutely nothing happening. I unplugged the ipod and plugged it in again and I was told it would need to be restored. It now gets as far as saying that it's restoring ipod software, but has frozen again. Anyone got anytips on what to do now? I'm snookered.....

cheers, i ended up restarting my comp, then got a blue screen, restarted again and all went well thereafter........
my head is now in the iClouds0
