If you have a router connected via ethernet cable and via wireless, which takes priority when connecting to the internet? For example, if I use a web browser which takes priority and if I then use PRINT to print wirelessly which takes priority? Also, do the two connections clash in some way (i.e. use the same resources)?

wired should override a wireless connection with no clashes.!!

Yes, by default and in 99% of situations the wired connection will override the wireless connection. This is meant to be the case as the wired connection should always be faster than the wireless one. You can however change the priorities if you had a specific reason to do so.0

Wired has the better metrics so would be the preferred. If you know what you are doing you can adjust the metrics to make wireless the preferred.
As for printing to a wireless printer it will be wired from PC to the router and then wireless from there to the printer. Your PC only sees the wireless printer as an IP address so will go to the router first as that is the default gateway for all requests.
Even if you only have a wireless connection on your PC a print request will still go via the routerThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
In the real world you would be very hard pressed to ever notice an impact so I would not worry or even think about it, ie streaming a video,
you would only ever notice if you set two computers downloading a file and you have a max internet download speed of 6Mbytes/s then you would only get 3MBytes/s on each computer but that is because you have maxed out your internet not the router.0
