Programmable Radiator Valves

I notice these on sale for about £25 at B&Q.
Also, some rather odd looking ones at Conrad electric on Amazon (Conrad are like a scaled up German version of Maplin).
If these are reliable and last for 10 years or so, I could probably get my money back several times over.
For example, the lounge radiators could be programmed to stay off on weekday morning.
My bedroom heating could come on in the morning and only late at night, rather than at 4:00 pm.
Has anyone tried these valves? Are they reliable?
