I work in Local Government, and get 30 days paid leave plus up to 12 days a year flexi leave (if i can build up the time), plus bank holidays, and can pretty much take my leave when I want, so by the sounds of it, I'm quite lucky!

Ha! I was in the Civil Service for eight years and I never managed to build up enough flexi to take a day off. I wasn't there long enough to get to thirty days but I felt very lucky with 25 days leave plus 10.5 public and privilege days.
In the job I had before that it was 20 days plus bank holidays, the leave year ran from January to December but we had to save three days for the Christmas closedown. The rest had to be taken by the end of November but as long as there weren't too many off at the same time I could pretty much have my holidays when I wanted them.

OP conveniently ignored my question. Probably someone getting others to do his homework for him. -____-

Be assured i have noted your question and have not ignored it but simply put it in my pending tray. I could ask why you want to know why i want to know?

I can assure your that i dont need assistance with my homework as a copy of the WTR is free and easy to download. I am simply seeking to draw comparisons.

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I'm not allowed any holiday between mid Dec and mid Jan (unless we have very good reason, then its at managers discretion.)

We have to give at least a months notice for any holiday and are only guaranteed the time off once manager has signed request - it only tends to get refused if several others have already booked same time off.

Company "likes us" to use up half of our holiday in 1st 6 months of year, but doesn't enforce this, and if our holiday is over a bank holiday, we only get the standard hourly rate if we are on holiday.

Whilst the rules can be bit annoying, I work in care so appreciate its necessary.

I'm in a job where I could choose to work term time only (allbeit with the resulting pay cut) but even if I would be paid the same, there is no way I would give up the luxury of being able to book my leave when I want it. I'm lucky that I dont need cover so can pretty much decide on the day when to take my leave. Long weekends, cheap out of season holidays, odd days to fulfill family commitments, afternoons off in the middle of summer. I work alongside teachers and definitely wouldnt swap my leave entitlement with theirs.
