In middle of switching accounts query

Evening experts,
I am currently in the process of moving current accounts from LLoyds to the Halifax reward account. I thought it would be a good idea to start the process off online which i did on Wednesday. This morning I got an envelope from the halifax stating with a letter mentioning that my cheque book, debit card and pin will be with me in the next 7 working days. I also have various forms to fill in.
I dont know what is happening to my old lloyds account where my salary is going to be paid into, will It remain open for a while or at least until the 28th of this month when my salary goes in?
I am just thinking that if my new debit card and pin code are not arriving until the next 7 working days then i need to continue to use my old ones? Can anyone advise me on this please? Thanks

Dont close the old account for a couple of months. Till you know everything is running Ok wit hthe halifax. Make sure there is something in old acc to cover some DD's as its not uncommon for them not be changed over in time.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0

If you are using the switching team one of those forms will be an authority to close the Lloyds account - you can put the date on this.0

It'll remain open until you decide to close it, or request that they close it for you, so wait until your happy with your new account, and then close it your old one. Remember to leave funds in both for the switchover.
[Personally, I'd keep both. They both have plus and minus points, and basically the same bank, more or less]0
