I swear the value stuff was £2 a little while ago and i saw it recently for around the £1.50 mark so i picked up quite a few tins as i suspected it would soon go back up again. I like to have it as a back up meal for when i've forgotton to get something out of the freezer or we get home late. Corned beef and chips does the job lol

Ive noticed the loose slices have risen sharply in price too.

Its a double whammy really, because Morrisons have realised tht lots of people buy it in slices now and not weight.

So gues what, the staff were instructed to cut it thicker. How sneaky is that then. What I find annoying is that they think we are stupid enough not to notice.
Same with their salad bar, the plastic boxes are now not as deep as they used to be.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

iT certainly changes its colour after its been in the fridge for a while.if you do freeze it , i would cut it first and put it in air tight bags. Why not buy a few slices loose and try it for yourself and then post here so we know how you got on?

I've frozen slices from the deli counter or pre packed with no problems - I use it for corned beef hash (but tinned works better).

I agree with others, corned beef hash used to be the cheapest & most filling meal when we were skint, now corned beef (and tuna too - totally agree on that one) is really quite expensive per portion.

I used to be able to spend £1 or less on meat for 2 people for a main meal, now that only covers sausages, or bacon, or burgers if you're lucky.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
