Which kind of bank account do I need?

Hi, I hope i'm posting in the right place.
I am currently in my final year at Uni studying art and design. We have to raise money throughout the year by holding events and selling art etc to fund our degree show at the end of the year. Last years course raised £12,000 although, that was high above anything any other year has raised.
Naturally we want to beat that amount, but are aiming for around £8-10,000 and currently have just under £1000.
I don't know what kind of bank account we need to open, we want at least two names on the account, ideally a cheque book and two debit cards. I've looked at some business accounts online but am I looking in the right place?
Thanks.

If you open a joint current account with someone else, the financial affairs of the account holders are linked, and this may impact the other person's credit reference files.
Might be better to look into something like a charity account, e.g. at the Coop http://www.co-operativebank.co.uk/servlet/Satellite/1193206370684,CFSweb/Page/Corporate-SpecialistTeams
How did the previous years' students manage their money?0 -
Yeah, I don't think a joint account would be ideal either because I don't want my name on anything that could come back to me in the future, kinda thing :S
I'll look into charity accounts though, thanks0
