How to stop a washing machine leak?

My 7 week old washing machine is leaking from somewhere underneath.
I have an engineer coming out on Saturday, but I'm not sure what to do until then.
It's been turned off since 10am but is still slowly leaking.
I switched the machine off at the wall, leaving the clothes inside, should I take them out? Or will that make things worse? Is there anyway to stop the water?
I'm running out of towels.
Thanks in advance, Sharon.

Ours (a Bosch) has a flap at the bottom of the front, behind which is a small tube used for draining, and a circular screw in filter access point. If yours has anything similar it might be worth checking both to see if either the drain tube or the filter trap have worked loose and you can tighten them.
If the water isn't visible in the door taking the clothes out won't worsen it - most modern machines barely have the water covering the bottom of the drum.Adventure before Dementia!0 -
Are you sure the hose is tightened up properly at the back of the machine? If this is not the problem then it might still be best to turn off the water supply to the washing machine.0
