Damaged but OK Sofa - Freecycle?

We have a three seater sofa which we'd quite like to get rid of.
I prefer the idea of giving it to somebody who needs one via Freecycle rather than having the council come and dispose of it, but the sofa is damaged.
A spring under one corner seat has come through the bottom of the sofa (it's actually damaged our floor board I believe) - it's the most used corner because it's the comfiest!
I reckon that if somebody put a thick board of wood on the underside it'd be fine to use and perhaps somebody would appreciate a free sofa - is it worth putting the sofa on Freecycle stating that it's damaged or is that not really the done thing?

I've just put a sofa on freecycle that is damaged , the cats scratched it, and faded by the sun. I stated all the damage and sent photos. Someone has asked for it for her daughter who is moving into a flat in a couple of weeks and has no furniture.
Just put it on and if there are no takers then you can send it to landfill, or at this time of year donate it to the local firework display.0 -
yes,as long as you say what condition its in,the "taker" can choose wether to have it or not.:)LIVE SIMPLY * GIVE MORE * EXPECT LESS * BE THANKFUL0

check for local charities... when we got new sofas, the old ones were in poor condition, but a local charity still uplifted it for people starting out with nothing. It was easier for them to shift it than it was for me to shift them too

Thanks everybody!
Originally we wanted to donate it to charity, but it's not fire retardant (that we know of) so didn't think that we could, then we found the damage.0 -
