Christmas Present ideas - what do YOU actually want?

40's, work school hours and spend rest of time running after hubby and kids.
I would like:
an IOU for household chores, eg ironing, hoovering etc
A new sports bag (seen one I like and have dropped hint to
older daughter who will hopefully pass on to hubby)
and that's it. I'm really not hard to please.
What I don't want is perfume - got 5 bottles last year and still working my way through it!0 -
26, female, fulltime odd hour worker
I would love a blue mixing bowl and a keyring led torch, I smashed mine last week and its essential for my job.0 -
I'm mid 30's, female, in a long term relationship, no kids.
If I need something I generally buy it, so good gifts for me are little luxuries like special chocolates, perfume or experiences (like tickets to see a west end show or a gig or an IOU for a meal out somewhere special).
The only material things that I want but haven't already bought (and will try to resist buying until after Christmas) are a nice dressing gown and The Thick Of It on DVD. A stick blender was going to be on that list but I caved and bought one today because I saw a bargain, oops.
ETA - one thing I definitely don't want is bubble baths/soaps etc from the likes of Body Shop or similar. I wish I could use the stuff but I can't without coming out in hives so it just sits in a cupboard until I can give it away. I had a gorgeous (and pricey) set from Molton Brown last year and it is just a wasteCommon sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
As a 40 something... I would just like to see my two DS's home at the same time for a bit of family time together.
One's away at Uni & the other works full time & is then out all hours. As a nurse I obviously work shifts, but I already know I'm off CD so spending time with my DS'S would be just lovely :j
(If either one of them could remember what my fave perfume was even better as I just HATE buying my own, I don't know why:o)Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -
A clean tidy house all over! for longer than the two hours it lasts now lol and for all the girls to be happy.. oh and dd1's asthma to go back down a level... not much really.Totally debt free wohooo 2014

24 year old and married,
I buy some of my own due to DH working long hours.
So far I've got a scarf, a scottie hot water bottle and a scottie shaped tin of biscuits and a Radley shopping tote.
On my list is a Radley watch, the edible garden book, slipper socks, calender and some pj's.
My Brother's already bought me the River Cottage handbook set (thanks to the grabbit board)
This year has really taught me that all that stuffs not important, what I really want is some nice time over Christmas with my Family (my Dad was killed in an horrific accident a couple of months ago)0 -
Mid-forties, female, not at all girly-girly. I'm always happy with an Amazon voucher; I'm gradually transferring my favourite books onto my Kindle. I also wouldn't turn my nose up at Game of Thrones Season 2 - I missed it when it was on TV, so I've only seen Season 1. I need a new set of saucepans as well."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

40+ working mum to one ... I would like:
- a magazine subscription, I like reading them but hate paying the prices! so a subscription would mean that I don't 'see' the price
- a good book, one that complements my current collection
- chocolate, quantity rather than quality
- a small travel bag on wheels, seeing as I am going away more for work
(PS This thread is brilliant, it's giving me real ideas for other family members):heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Late 40's, widowed mum of six
I would like someone to go into town to buy all the children's Christmas presents. I'll pay, I just hate going shopping in town and can never go alone so 'secrets' are difficult too.
In terms of a gift then new beds for the dogs was my first thought
Lovely idea for a thread BTW
aims for 2014 - grow more fruit and veg, declutter0
