winter veg advice please :-)

Hi everyone,
I have a small veggie and fruit garden at my terraced house, and this year I have winter veg plants - kale, sprouting brocolli, spring cabbage - but I was late putting them in (early september) and they haven't really grown much - they're only about 4 inches high, although mostly sturdy looking enough. I have a fleece cloche over them - do you think they may grow over the winter or do you think they're too small to flourish??????
Thanks, WCS

ps shall leave them anyway, but would love to know what you think!

I know someone else that did this. They did grow, but mostly next year. It's unlikely they will do well, it does depend on the winter though. And the spring.
