Eagle Star insurance claim

Hi, could anyone help, I had an Eagle Star Contents Insurance in 2004 and all the Eagle Star policies were transferred to Zurich Insurance 2004 when Zurich took them over.
I had a specified item on the Eagle Star polciy which Zurich did not mention on their new policy schedule, unfortunately I did not notice it but the item has now been lost and they will not settle the claim. Has anyone had an Eagle Star policy and had a similar experience with Zurich on a claim, or any other examples of claims not been settled where one insurance company has been taken over by another ?

Do you have any policy schedules from Eagle Star especially dated the year before the transfer?

Hi, no sorry I moved house and shred old Eagle Star docs, also it was not through a broker0
