Blanket/Storage Box

Hi,

I'm looking for a reasonably priced (ie, less than £50) blanket box to put at the end of my double bed. I live in London but can't find one anywhere that is reasonably priced.

I don't mind second hand, and I'm not adverse to buying an old one that I can paint up, but I can't seem to find a decently priced one.

Does anyone have any suggestions? (Or want to sell one!)

Melissa

B&Q had wooden toy/storage boxes for £20. you had to paint /varnish yourself but this was last year...we bought one and its still going strong....the size is big enough for 2 average size adults to sit on..very cosy though!!!!
    What about ikea?

Thanks Poppyolivia - I think I must be the only person who has not been. to an Ikea before!

I tried B&Q in Wandsworth, but to no avail. I did see some 20 pound boxes, but they were too small (ie,super tiny). They must have been different to yours!

I'm sure London has some second hand furniture shops that i have yet to sniff out....

  • Have you thought of asking on Freecycle? (not sure if theres one in your area)
    Or how about making one?

Hope you find what you want!

Thank you - I am actually thinking about building my own now. I am pretty good with wood, and can probably construct what I want which fits the exact space.

    Thanks for all your ideas.

If you have some auctions taking place in your area its the kind of thing that goes really cheaply. If your are short of time go on the viewing day and leave an offer.

I've just done a search on Ebay, and there's a selection - see here:
