DVD copy

BitsDuJour are offering Any DVD Cloner Platinum today only, for $19.95 reduced from $49.95.

I was wondering if any MSE users have tried this and what they thought of it.

Anyone know if is there a single piece of software that does the same for free?

Thanks Closed, I will give it a try.

Just one query; in the case of a movie, if I want to burn to the image to DVD it looks as though I would either need a dual burner or an additional programme to convert from ISO and then shrink the image with something like DVD Shrink to fit a standard DVD. Is this correct?

It depends on the size and contents of the dvd, a dual layer disc will need either a dual layer blank or some editing/converting

This program essentially strips out copy protection - the resulting iso can then be played directly on a pc using vlc media player, or it can be mounted as a disc image and edited like any dvd, or some set top boxes can play iso's directly from an external hard disk/flash drive. So unless you need to duplicate, you can remove the need for dvd discs altogether, and store video/music on hard disks

Depending on your OS, you can burn an image directly to a disc - eg in Win7, right click the iso, open with 'Windows disc image burner'. As you say, you may need to shrink first with DVD shrink, depending on the size of the file and your discs.DVD Shrink will read the iso without converting first though. I use VLC player to play the iso images - just like watching the DVD without all the carp at the beginning!

+1 for DVD shrink. I like to make a new DVD with just the main film.

Plug the DVD into the player and you are watching the movie without the 10 minutes of unskippable carp at the start.
