    I've never heard of this. As far as I know, you receive a flat non-means tested payment and it's up to you as to how you spend it. I suppose the only way to find out is to phone them.

    It would be nice if this were true as I'll be travelling miles to placement from October onwards and it would really help to be able to relocate.

    It used to, but I don't think it does now because the travel expenses for placement is now integrated into the bursary payment.
