PVC Door

I wonder if anyone can help? We have a PVC door (rented property) and originally had a half barrell lock. As our little boy got older, we realised that he could turn the wheel and open the door. The landlord changed it so that we need to use the keys to lock it from the inside. Problem is, my husband (twice now!) has closed the door, with the keys still in the lock on the inside. Then I am unable to use my keys to open the door from the outside. Is this a safety feature or can you have this changed? THanks

Think all those locks are like that, you could change your husband

Tell him to remove the key when he's locked the door, if your son had figured out how to turn the thumb lock, won't take him long to do the same with the key . . .0 -
Thanks, probably cheaper to change my husband!
He takes the keys out when we're in, but he has a really bad habit of unlocking the door when we go out and leaves them in the back!0 -
you need to get a lock with clutch cam fitted so you can still open the door even when a key has been left on the other side.
The Cisa Astra S anti bump and snap resistant euro cylinder lock is expensive but very good lock.0
