  • Yes you are right there is a risk under Universal Credits.

    Please see all of the threads on Universal Credits. Look at the self employment sections and note the minimum income rules.

    The self employment part is really easy, just read as much as possible.

    If only we could keep the current system, you would really see a positive result.

    You need to understand as much as possible before you decide, or you could take a chance and as you say "you will make it work".

  • you could play around with "turn to us" with some possible figures and see how it would currently effect your benefits

    Take a look at the news,read up about how bad life is in Greece/Spain right now.Have a look how desperate people are there and the rise in support of the extreme right wing and you get an idea of what the UK would be like in 5yrs time.............

    If we kept the Status Quo the interest rate at which the country borrows money would shoot up costing more to service the ever increasing national debt and we would be a basket case.Sorry to say the party is over and now the hangover(reality) is hitting.
